Does converting FLAC to MP3 V0 lose sound quality compared to using EAC for direct V0 for rips?

Thread Starter

I've been using EAC to rip from CDs into both FLAC and MP3 V0. But for some reason, I just realized that my command line was set to V2 for some reason... I'm just somewhat frustrated so I'm looking to possibly use Foobar to convert FLAC to MP3 V0 if it doesn't take away from Sound quality.

I just abhor how long some rips take, so it would be awesome if this option is just as good as using EAC.

If SQ would be different, could someone let me know the correct V0 command line?

Mine is currently:

%l-V 5%l%h-V 2%h --vbr-new %s %d

Would the correct V0 command line be the following:

%l-V 5%l%h-V 0%h --vbr-new %s %d

The only change is the 2 to 0.

Thanks!

Not really, just stick with FLAC.

FLAC is a lossless source so no it won't matter. If you were to convert from MP3 320 to v0 that would be a bad idea and it would sound terrible. As long as your source is lossless it won't matter. Also don't upconvert it will also make it sound worse.
