I've looked around at various builds but I wanted to double check that you do not in fact need to connect the shielding when using shielded cable for hook up wire. I'm going to be connecting single ended outputs to an output stage.
Some pictures look like the shielding is connected while others looks like it is not. Just want to make sure you get the benefit of the shielding without actually connecting it to anything in the chassis.
