Do you think the Valhalla would be okay? Or what would you recommend?

The Valhalla is an OTL and pairs best with high impedance headphones.

Alright then what would be best for low Impendant headphones for a $300 budget?

What sound coloration do you like?

Neutral?  Then, Beyer DT880 32 ohms or Sennheiser HD598.

V-shape eq curve?  Then, Beyer DT990 32 ohms.

There are many opinions, but these three should get you started with your research.

Sorry I meant to say best tube amp for low impendent headphones for a $300 budget.

Gotcha.  Honestly, I don't think a good tube amp with an output transformer exists for $300 or less.  Some good output transformers cost hundreds of dollars themselves.  If you want to drive low impedance headphones on a budget, look into a solid state amp.  The Asgard is highly regarded.

Thanks for the reply. My only concern is that the Asgard is considered to be a "slow" amp but being as this is my first amp, and not being used to the sound an amp produces will I notice the slowness when I listen to my Electronic or dub step music?

Based on what I've read, the Asgard is true to the source.  If your source is slow, the Asgard is slow.  If your source is fast, the Asgard is fast.  I've never heard the Asgard, so take my words with a grain of salt.  But, some here have described the Asgard as being true to the source.

PM kwkarth.  He has stated several time that the Asgard is true to the source.
