Etymotic ER-4P/S, or sell for newer IEM? - Page 2

I'm halfway considering the Ety customs because I want some custom earplugs for sleeping when my wife snores, and for not too much more money, from the same impression, I can have Ety custom tips. However, if the Shure tips perform just as well, if not better, than the customs, then despite the "deal" with the combo customs I should just getter sleeping custom plugs and the Shure tips.

How is the sound affected by the customs? Do the Shure tips affect the sound also?

I can not comment on the custom sleeves but the Shure Olives definitely sound different than the tri-flange tips and also my new Earplug store tips.

The Olives, remove a bit of the treble and the midrange making the sound warmer and adding slightly to the bass at the expense of not so quite as crisp highs or detail.

From what I have read a proper fitted ACS tips should add comfort, and better isolation which should make them even more detailed and possibly more crisp, but it should also give you the most bass as well. So everything should be ever so slightly better.

Oh and you asked about loosing weight. I am not an expert but I imagine you would have to have a much larger weight loss to have the fat content in your ears change enough make that much difference. But again I am not an expert on this so you might want to wait for more responses in this area.

I'm also planning to lose 10-15 pounds in the next month or two. Will weight lose affect the fit of the customs tips?

I have lost over 40 pounds since getting my JH13 and that did not affect fit.

The Shure tips are easy to take inland out of my ears. With practice, are customs easy to take in and out of the ears too?

I can take my JH13 in and out about as fast as I can with universals

I'm favoring the customs at this time. Can anyone else comment on how customs affect the sound? Thanks.
