That's my max to spend. So far i've looked at m50s, what is something better?

The AKG K270s are the classic, big huge studio headphones. There is little doubt if you see someone in these cans, they're tracking tasty licks on a new album. Despite their size, they do tend...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

Bought these on whim, for your basic train ride to work I don't mind. But its far from being the best I have own.

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

If you can find them on sale for $250 or buy them used. I usually see them at $350.
Also look at the Shure SRH940 and Ultrasone Pro 900. The Shure is very accurate monitor type phones where you will hear everything in the recording. The Ultrasone is a more fun bass heavy phone but usually more expensive ($300+).
Heya,
List criteria. There's plethora of better options, depending on what you actually are looking for. There is no one best in any category. So list the music you generally listen to, describe how you want bass to be, mids, treble, etc. Do you like energetic, loud, impactful, bright headphones, or do you want something laid back, mellow, smoother, darker, etc. Give us some information.
Very best,

KRK KNS 6400 is a very nice sounding headphone,it's sound signature is neutral and enjoyable at the same time, and it does well with many different music genres. They are comfortable, cable and pads are exchangeable, they can be driven from an ipod, and the price is also good.
I have the shure srh 840 which I like, the sound is smooth and refined, with good soundstage imaging,it also can be driven by portable devices and give high quality sound, but i find it to be a bit bass heavy at times...(although not much)
So my recommendations are those two closed headphones.Get the KRK KNS 6400 in my opinion,it's a good music reproducer, with good comfort and it's not so expensive.Very good headphone for the money,I'm thinking to buy myself one too, sometime in the near future.
