Solid state amp for the cool kids!

Hi guys,

 

Merry Christmas and all that jazz! :)

 

I’m looking to get a new amp for my HD 650 (w/ blue dragon). I’d like to get my hands on a solid state amp in the category of 700-800 $, and it has to be a damn nice looking one ;)

 

What’s hot these days? I haven’t been active on the head-fi scene for quite a while, so I wouldn’t know where to begin. Thanks for sharing!

FYI. I currently have a Jade, and I'm looking to try something a bit different, if possible :)

The Burson 160 is thought of highly.

Yulong D100 or Matrix Quattro are good choices, if you need a DAC too.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Really appreciate it.

 

I've actually been looking at the Burson already, but recently stumbled upon the M1 HPA, which is often mentioned in the same threads as the Burson. I think the M1 HPA might be the amp for me :)

The Schiit, Burson, Nuforce and RSA AMPs are nice looking and they sound great.
