I planning on moving up from my Fiio E9 to a better Headphone amp. I thought of 3 different ones but I cant make up my mind between them. I mainly looking for a sound Neutral sound signature while having a big sound stage , while still having good clear Details. With a Tight controlled bass or neutral bass.
I thought about the Matrix M-stage because of its Dip-8 socket, but I really getting tired of rolling op-amps,Finding a combo that close to the sound signature I want.
I also was looking at the Audio GD NFB - 12, I don't know if its a perfect match for the DT 880 pro-250, I read that the user may have to change the filter settings to the headphone their using, I saw one of the best filter settings was the 8x MPA filter in the NFB 12 thread. But that limit the output to 48khz. All of my music is in 16bit/44.1khz. But I do create music in 24bit/96khz. I worried it would mess with me creating music. With me having to use a different filter then the better one for the headphones to get the sound signature I want.
Then lastly the Schiit Asgard, One of the thing I like about it, is it has a 5 year warranty. But I would like to know would it gives me the sound signature I want, While being a great match with my DT880 pro-250. As well will I be making a mistake to get it.
These 3 are in the budget I have setup, as I save up enough money for them. As I hoping to stay within 280.I don't want any tube amp's as tube rolling is costly and I don't like the idea of having tubes that degrade over time,But I did take a look at the Schiit Valhalla, But its over my budget that I willing to save up to spend.
Would the NFB - 12 also be moot point if all I ever gonna do is plug my X-FI HD pcie into it thru spdif and never use it the NFB - 12 Dac, but just it's Amp.
