Are Beats really that bad even if money isn't a problem? Like if they didn't have a set price, would people still not buy them? Also, I am looking for a pair of head phones since apparently my Beats suck lol, I listen to rap, dubstep, etc, anything up to $300 maybe. I also listen to things like John Mayer, which aren't as bass heavy. But for the most part I would like a strong bass.

The AKG K270s are the classic, big huge studio headphones. There is little doubt if you see someone in these cans, they're tracking tasty licks on a new album. Despite their size, they do tend...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

First, I should note that I auditioned these both straight out of the box, without any break-in time and then later after 53 hours of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite...

A very all-round headphone for me. Just the right one to take on the go or on holiday. Also as a DJ, nice noice isolation. Very durable so you don't have to wonder if it will break if you throw...

I would by Beats for $90 (matching the price of the fakes) cause they look fairly good and are probably worth $90 sound-wise. Maybe a tad more. Other than that, get the Denon D2000.
So do you think that the Fakes are actually worth the money for their sound?

The fake Beats market is filled with anything and everything. You never know what you'll get in a fake. Some of the most-recommended bassy headphones on Head-Fi for the beginning audiophile are the Denon D2000 (listed above) and the Ultrasone HFI-580. Failing that, you could just a get a more neutral headphone and EQ your source.
EDIT: Forgot a 0 in D2000

Depends on the fake. I've heard of some fakes that sound better and some fakes that are on par with iBuds. The build quality is probably even worse (Yeah, it's possible).
Also, while I wouldn't buy Beats at any price due them looking very ugly in my opninion, I'd choose 200$, maybe 250$ for the Pro's, 125$ for the studios and probably 35$ for the Solo's and 50$ for the Solo HD's
