Elega DR-140C

So I just found these headphones lying around my grandparents' house and thought they could be worth something. They appear to be a Japanese made set from the mid 70's or so, but that's all I know. 

 

They look like this, only black.

Could anyone speculate on the quality of these headphones (then and now) and how much they might be worth?

How about plugging them in, play some music, and tell us what you hear? Is there, to start with, any deep bass when you play a modern dance track? How does a high-hat sound on it?

 

To be honest, it probably sounds horrible and is worthless. But now and then those old cans surprise!

I tried them today through my parent's old home stereo, listening to a satellite rock station, and they didn't sound too good. Bad, actually. Very thin, no soundstage. Just cheap sounding. I was just curious if these would be popular among collectors or something. After hearing them, though, I highly doubt it.

What stero were you running them through? Do you have the original box or junction box?

It's a Pioneer VSX-D508 receiver. No box.
