Should I purchase BeyerT70P?

Im thinking of getting one for home and portable,
Currently using my 1964T for portable and want to give full size headphones again and first thing that caught my attention was the T70P.
I was wondering if my music taste will benefit it,
Listen to alot of Indie, all kind of rock genre, little hip/hop and some electronic dubstep.
Now I want to be able to use this too at home watching some movies on my lapttop.
Something else I was deciding on was the Ultrasone Pro 900, other than that im pretty stuck on what to get.
I'm mainly looking for cans that is perfectly detailed just like Fischer DBA-02 and the Triple custom from 1964.
Price range 250-500$
Thanks

Heya,

The T70 is reported to be rather shy on bass for a closed Beyer. So it may not suit all of your genres. There are some used ones floating around for less than retail if you want to give a shot. Probably would be great for indie, but wouldn't really deliver for electronica/hiphop I would think.

I'm thinking A900X for you.

Alternatively, I'd really put you on a Denon D5000, Fischer Audio FA-003 (or FA-002W), Ultrasone PRO 650, and simply the Beyer DT770.

Should be fine from the E11.

Very best,

Bump.

D5000 is way to large and loose on the head to be used as a portable. The KRK KNS8400 are said to have good detail but they need extensive break-in get rid of sibilance. You might want to take a look at the FA-003/HM5 threads as they may fit your bill as well. Other portables to consider would the Senn HD25 or if you want a more neutral sound with less bass the DT1350.

HD25's are very well known for being a great portable headphone. With your music genre, maybe Grado's?

HD25's are perfect for both, so that looks like a perfect match.

I personally Beyer makes some pretty good headphones but just not in the portable arena. All their portable models are relative expensive compared to other brands don't have the reviews to match the price. I'm sure higher end models like the T5p are awesome but they're more transportable than portable.

When you say "reviews to match the price", what price are you thinking of? The MSRP of ~550$? Or a used/discount model at around 300-400$?
