Sony a865 have volume cap?

Hi, i have a sony a828, the sound of this player is awesome for me, but it has only 8gb, and the battery is so bad, now im looking for another player which have nice battery.
I see the new sony a865 and it is beautiful, but i think the sq improvement wont be very high, can someone compare this to the a828?
Another player i think slhould be very good is cowon j3, it has sd slot, the battery is good, and the sound should be superb too, so i dont know which is better.
Have someone have tryed both players? Wich one has better sq(i always use EQ)?

I think the Sony A865 and Cowon J3 are close when it comes to sound quality. However, you might be able to find the J3 cheaper, and you can expand the memory with MicroSD cards. So that a definite plus for the J3.

 

I have only tried the Sony A856, and it sounds good on flat (or just using a bit of clear bass). On my S9 (similar to the J3), I can use a lot of different effects, but some of them makes the music sound artificial. So I try to minimize stuff like that. Anyway, both Sony and Cowon sound good, but perhaps it is easier to adjust the EQ on the Sony.

 

Both have their up- and downsides. But price and the fact that you can add up to 32GB MicroSD cards makes the J3 a winner in my book.

Thanks, i think i would go with the cowon j3, but is so expensive, here i have to pay about 220$ to get the j3 8gb and i can get the sony a865 16gb for just 150$(amazon uk).

Another question, the sony a865 have the volume cap?.

Where do you live? The UK? In Sweden, the 16GB version of the J3 costs the same as the A865 and the 32GB version of the J3 is 300SEK (a little less than £30) cheaper than the A866. I do not think that there is a volume cap on the A865. You can look through this thread:

Thanks for the info, i live in Spain, but here the prices are much more expensive, i usually buy in the uk or in Europe, because i dont have to pay taxes.

I readed the post you say me, and seems that sony a865 doesnt have the volume cap, they say that is loud, however, i have an amp that can boost the volujme so , i think this shouldnt be a problem.
