Very interesting soundstage description that they are not on par with the IE8s. TBH I really wasn't overly impressed with the IE8's soundstage when I first heard it and with all the hype surrounding its soundstage at the time I expected more. In which areas do you think the Merlins fall short of the IE8s? Width, height, depth?

Looking at the pics above I'm not sure if I prefer solid colour or translucent, they both look nice!

 

I went for translucent bLack face with clear shells/tips on the L and gReen face with clear shells/tips on the R. Hoping it looks pretty slick.
