Did you remove the original power filter caps before adding the new ones or are they in addition to what is already on the card?

I did not remove any power supply caps only the coupling caps which are CE8& CE14. You can leave the coupling caps there & just short them on the bottom of the board to reduce risk of damage to the board traces, the sound is the same.

Thanks, getting closer to ordering some stuff now.

Those 2uF/100v caps are hard to get but there are plenty of 2.2uF/100v caps available. Would there be any considerations with using 2.2uF caps for these mods?

BassBit. You get your parts yet?

Not yet, will do soon, too many projects.

I wanted to understand a little deeper the reasoning for using caps like this and how things worked.

Found this interesting:

Long time no hear from you Apocalypsee & Bassbit. How are things going? Hopefully your mods are going well. Hope to here back soon.

By the way I have some people that have some home studios that are interested in my speaker mods. They record thier basic tracks at home then take it to a larger studio for final mixdown. They are interesten in a true tonal property for initial recording & not having to fix it in the final mix. They may be interested in the soundcard mods once they hear the system as a whole. I will see when they hear  my system. They used to have my speakers stock & remember how they sounded & my discription agreed with thiers when stock. They got very interested when I told them the resulting sound after my mods.

Hey Germanium

Finally got around to doing those mods. Sounding good, improves the timbre of instruments nicely. Makes me want to turn the volume up a lot which I indeed do and without the fatigue that can go along with that. Pre-mod there were areas of the sound that just didn't sound nice, certain chords would sound off, subtle but annoying when listening intently so I'm glad to see this sorted.
