it will help. the HM101 is very cheap and was my first dac as well as having a small amp built in. he burn in stuff whether real or not, it still might take time to get used to the sound of something which people might attribute to burn in. it really depends on the electronics it seems

I bought the newly released Fiio E10 for my Macbook Pro 13" and has vastly improved my listening experience through my DT 770 Pro's. I highly recommend and very affordable too if you shop around.

The Grado SR80 can definitely be improved upon with a good headphone amp/DAC combo.

I have a previous generation Mac Book Pro, it's output was especially noisy.  Apple hides it under OSX, the amp is deactivated when nothing is playing, but load up windows with bootcamp and its problems would show through right away.
