I'll second the audio consultants reco.
Also, in Indianapolis, Ovation has some headphones (I know they have the Sennheiser 650s and should have the 800s)
There also used to be an audio store (audio solutions?) in Broad ripple - but they were mostly speaker oriented.
You have a T1 and Dt990s? That seems kind of weird
kinda like sr325 and rs1
The HD 800 were really wonderful but I can't help but feel the LCD 2 may be even better. With everyone and their moms recommending them on head-fi. Any of you have liked the 701 and tested both the HD800 and LCD2? Which do you prefer? Now I'm curious about the other top tiers, T1, HE-6 and how about them Stax 009s? Oh no.... You're still a noob...... Musn't get too far ahead of oneself...... "must resist stupidity impulse"
I joined head-fi about 1-2 weeks ago. In that time I've spent $700 on gear, about $150 on this trip and countless hours researching......
Thank you head-fi! I'm enjoying every second of it. And my wallet has a bounty on all of your heads!
Edit: I'm selling all my stuff on eBay now.....
I called music direct earlier, unfortunately they don't do demos in their store. The guy said he loved the LCD 2 much much more than his HD 800. Curiosity is going to kill me.
I know decibel has a station for listening to phones but as i mentioned before they only have one amp set up and have a small amp selection(grado, project and the music hall hybrid headphone amp). They also carry mainly the grado line of headphones. As far as music direct it is a online store and they do not have any listening stations for monitoring haedphones and or amps but they do carry a pretty good selection of both including audeze, grado, senhheiser, akg,,hifiman, shure in headphones.
In amps they carry luxman, lehmann, graham slee bellari, music hall, musical fidelity, channel island, project ,benchmark and hrt.
