Cheap(ish) headphones for gaming and movies?

Thread Starter

I'm looking for a good set of headphones to use with my pc and ps3/tv for single player games and blu-ray movies. I'm setting my budget for 100 dollars, but with a little wiggle room, and i would like the best sound experience possible for that price. don't care for wireless, or surround, or even a gaming mic, just want the best headphones for this. I was mainly looking at "official" gaming headsets like Turtle Beach or Tritton brand, but if i can get better sound from a regular stereo headset, that would be great. Main ones i've been looking at are the Audio Technica AD700's, and i've seen a lot of good reviews for them. please provide any help you can.

From the gaming forums I've seen, the AD700 and the Creative Aurvana Live are the two most recommended under $100. The CAL is at a good price right now at Amazon.
