Question about UE Triple Fi 10 - Page 3

Many people argue that the TF10 don't need burning in because they are balanced armatures, but I tend to disagree.

When I first got my TF10's I also thought they were bloated and muddy and I almost considered sending them right back. Thankfully I decided to keep them and try and burn them in, after about 10+ hours the sound already started to clear up.

The TF10's are definitely not bloated and muddy, they are very well regarded at being very precise and clear. The sound is very open and airy and they really are fantastic. Just give yours a chance to burn in if you haven't already, it made a world of difference for mine.

I didn't notice any change over time personally.

I have TF10 and Shure SE215 and the TF10 sound quality is noticeably better without any amping.  TF10 is just not as comfortable or isolate outside noise in my experience.

Interesting, I have listened to 2 sets and neither of them to me were muddy right out of the box.

hmm maybe it's all psychological then...

regardless, it's always good to give iems some time, burn-in or not.

I agree with giving them some time, there will always be the ones that think your ears adjust, and others that believe its burn in. I could see it being both.

I agree that in some cases its psychological but when I first got the TF10s I thought they were muddy. So to actually see if it was just psychological or actually burn in, during the 10 hours I burned them in, I didn't listen to them. I burned in with pink for 1 hour blocks at a time with 5 minutes rest.

So I actually did not adjust my ears at all, it was just initial impression, then my experience post 10 hours burn in. Because of this, I'm now a firm believer in burn in.

Well, TF10 is more efficient than the SE215. And it's because Shures have one the best universal IEM isolation you can ever find, when it tried it I almost couldn't hear anything without music turned on. But the TF10s are generally considered already very good. They are better than IEMs like Klipsch S4, Monster Turbines, IE8/80s etc. But their fit I got to agree is not really good, but they fit my ears though ^^
