Question about UE Triple Fi 10 - Page 2

I personally am confused now.

As a potential future TF10 owner, is the TF10 neutral or v-shaped?

I've owned two pairs in the past and IMO, it's definitely v-shaped. I don't really care about FR graphs anymore because I'm 100% certain the TF10 is not neutral at all.

V shaped, I know we are playing semantics, but I've heard it described as balanced.

ClieOS explains it very well here: http://www.head-fi.org/t/541204/concise-multi-iem-comparison-fischer-audio-mightybug-fa977-ceramique-paradigm-v-3-consonance-tandem-sba-3-added-oct-27th-2011#post_7297553

It's V shaped, which is also sometimes called balanced.

I think the term "neutral" really differs from people to people. Being neutral does not mean it's natural, it just means it's closer to the recorded source. Coloring may not be necessarily bad, they add the extra highs and lows as to what a concert provide. So the term neutral is whether or not you're comparing it to recorded music or concert quality. For, concert quality sounds the most natural and have been what people are always looking for.

Charts are for nerds.  They don't mean anything.  There are too many outside variables affecting the sound like tips and fit.

Listen to ER4 for "neutral."  Then listen to TF10 and you will understand how it is not neutral.

Yeah, meaningless and nerdy.  Who needs em.  Especially not manufacturers.

Well I'm trying to get rid of these triple fi's but cannot post on the sales forum yet. Would anyone be interested? I've worn them maybe 15 times. I hope this isn't breaking the rules!

Would anyone be interested in my pair? I want to get the bose ae2's! (these are simply the only headphones that fit my big head with glasses!)

it would have to be at a very competitive price because these can be had brand new at bargain basement prices right now.

I think there may be a lot of disagreement here and elsewhere about the TF10 because it is good enough to be very revealing of the source.  Mine sound ENTIRELY different based on which source I am listening too.  On my laptop they sound flat and thin with almost no dynamic range because my laptop soundcard is terrible.  On my 7G iPod Classic, they sound a little thin and somewhat v-shaped unless I run them through my iBasso P-3+ which pushes the midrange, in which case they sound perfectly flat but a smidgen compressed on the soundstage.  On my 5.5G iPod through the same P-3+ they sound like old Conrad Johnson tube amps, almost all midrange and almost sickly sweet with a compressed soundstage, but with an enormous amount of inner detail.  And they sound like absolute perfection when I listen through my 5.5G iPod and my RSA Hornet.

In my book they are so revealing because they are actually very neutral.

Are you serious? The AE2s don't even come close to the TF10s in sound quality.

I see, but there are many more headphones in the market that are comfortable too but has a better sound. I do agree the AE2s have superb comfort, but the sound quality is subpar.
