I would love to know too.  I was super close to buying it but there just wasn't enough feedback out there about it.

Me too, and I still love my unit as much. It's now my standalone computer rig for the university.

I am interested in the GT-40 as I want to rip some of my own albums to 24/96 to my MBAir.  I have a lot of clean vinyl which is not currently available on high rez.  Any thoughts on using the phono ADC or would you save up for the Esprit.  My issue is the vinyl player which is good (Project-lll) but not super high end and I have used this with the preamp phono stage of my Denon 1035 receiver.

I haven't tried the phono equalizer yet; apparently (from reviews on sites such as What Hi-Fi and 6moons) it sounds very decent.

Also because I have no turntable to test it on ;/

Both the GT40 and Esprit have the capability of doing ADC to the computer, but the Esprit doesn't have the phono equalizer function, so it can't read your turntable. This function has been exchanged for a coaxial and optical digital decoding inputs and a digital signal converter (USB -> optical). They also added a supplementary analog input.

Thanks for the reply.  I may opt for the GT-40 as the phono stage is what I am most interested in.  I do like the fact that both the Esprit and the GT-40 can function as a DAC and ADC.

The Mark 2 of this the biggest bargain in hifi is out soon...keep an eye out.The AC only wall wart is the one major weakness but that can be replaced with a big aftermarket one. Which is a must really." Mains cables r us " in the UK do a dedicated power supply for it..im sure there are supliers in the USA who do or can too.
