Found a Sennheiser PXC 360 under the tree but...

I'm having somewhat mixed feelings...

After about 2 hours they're already improving quite a bit. Classical music is now possible on this thing, jazz is beginning to sound like I should. The noise cancellation isn't stellar but it does make concentrating on your music that much easier.

What bugs me..

1. These are over the ear but apparently over very small ears.

2. I have to crank up my Sandisk Sansa Clip+ as far as it will go to get anything remotely resembling a decent volume. My other travel phones, sennheiser px-100 II, did fine on 60%.

Now I know real enthousiasts tend to use seperate amplifiers but this Clip+ I chose partially because of it's size. And frankly, this 360 was not exactly cheap for me. I'd hate to have to spend another 60 euros for a halfway decent amplifier  (and having to sort trough endless reviews to find something that was NOT designed for the bassheads)

Some further testing... with my laptop, which has a lot more oomph in the output department, they're pretty much OK on the wired connection. Bluetooth is horrible but that seems to be the laptops fault. With my HTC Desire phone and bluetooth they sound surprisingly good if you stay away from classical music. Rock, pop, country, hardrock sounds fine. The noise cancelling is no miracle worker but it does make it possible to concentrate on your music even in a fairly lively enviroment.

These do need some time to burn in and settle though. I've now put 8 hours on them and they sound nothing at all like when they came out of the box.

However, I'm getting rid of these. The way they fit over my ears (which aren't exactly small, like everything else about me) means they continuously press against the speaker coverings and that gets tiring after an hour or so.

A well meaning wife removed all the adapters etc from the plastic packaging so I'm afraid I'll have to ebay these and perhaps take a slight loss.
