I have been listening to neutral headphones such as the Sony V6 for years, and recently bought the JVC HAS600 which has extra bass, but probably nowhere near as much as the Sony XB500 or JVC HAS4x. Some reviews have stated that the JVC HAM5x is way too bassy and that the HAS4x is better, so I will eliminate the HAM5x. The HAS4x is also much less expensive than the XB500. How do these compare? I searched for a frequency response chart for the HAS4x, but couldn't find one. Does anyone here have both the HAS4x and XB500? I want something with strong bass, but also with untainted vocals. Vocals on the PX100 and Portapro sound too warm for my preference. Are they much warmer on the XB500 and HAS4x? I am wondering if the PX100 vocals sound too warm due to recessed higher midrange or due to boosted lower midrange.
