K370's are dying, what to buy now?

Hello head-fi'ers, I'm looking for your help!

My AKG K370 are slowly dying - I've already fixed the cable a few times, and while they are ok as of now, I feel like they won't last long. So, I'm looking for a replacement for them. Price tag under(the more the better, not much cash on me actually) $100, I'm welcome to look around for used ones.

I'll be using them with iPhone 3Gs. I know that it's not the best sounding thing around, but I don't like carrying another piece of electronics with me, and using iphone is convenient. I alse do have a FiiO E1 amp I've bought recently, but... maybe it is me, but I don't think it gave a sound much of an upgrade. Soundstage and clarity wise maybe, but certainly not the bass and colour of the sound.

Music wise, it's not easy, because I'd need pretty universal ones - Music I listen to wary from Jazz, through Rock, Through Classic, ending at Electro/dance. There is also another genre I often listen to, pretty harsh on headphones - jpop, and jrock. They tend to sound very bright, with lots of ringing trebles, so I'll be looking for iem's that won't cut my ears :)

As for my preferences, I do like neutral sound - I don't like good, bouncing bass missing, but also I hate lack of clear highs and soundstage, I feel like mids are very important too.. so the sweet spot here are neutral ones.

Also, I love the around-the-ear design, so It would be great If I could get ones built like that.

The first question is how many iems better than k370 are there? Because I would not like to do a downgrade here.

I've been recommended Fichser Audio Eterna by a friend, they look fine on the paper(nice design also), but would they do fine in my case?

I'd be very grateful for your help!

Just to let you know, how an amp reacts to a certain headphone is dependent on that pair of headphones.  Some will actually get a good bass boost with an amp, while others will gain clarity and treble refinement.  You don't really know until you test.

I would recommend the RE0s, paired with the E1 amp, they become heavenly :D  They can be worn over the ear as well, but are built for being worn either way.  Other ideas include the Etymotic HFs with that amp.  If you can find the Brainwavz B2 for that price range, those are also really great headphones (beat out both the Etymotics and RE0s in my opinion; especially with an amp).  Again, each of these has their strengths and weaknesses.

I do know that certain amp may work better or worse on certain headphones... I just did notice on the ones i own(k370, hd600), that e1 does make the sound thiner and colorless.

RE0 do seem interesting, I'll take a closer look on them. B2 are out of my reach I'm afraid.

Which HF do you mean? there are a few versions of them, not sure which ones to look for. Also, i do remember listening to some etymotic iems years ago, do they still have that cold sound signature?.
