RoCoo P DAP - Full Review - Page 17

^I used to own the Meizu M6, black 8GB slim version.  It was a great sounding dap, but I never got use to the overly sensitive touch pad.  I'm currently content with my HM-602 and Sansa Clip Zip (working out).

Are you gonna give the new rockbox firemare revision a shot? I'm thinking about it but I'm also trying to sell my 601 lol. I just can't see myself keeping 3 audiophile DAPs :P

Altough the FX700 is to die for still on the 601 :(.

Nope.  I don't EQ and the only time I used Rockbox was on a 5th Gen iPod to playback FLAC.  However, Rockbox has some cool skins like the retro cassette.

I also hate using EQ but the Rockbox firmware really makes the Hifimans fast. That is one reason I hate using the Hifiman is due to how slow it is to access music. The EQ options on Rock box is just a plus.

Lee, I've always found Rockbox to sound a bit different from the stock FWs on the players I've tried it on. Don't know if it's codecs or general platform. I know that you're thinking of selling the 601. Maybe try dealing with the UI and listening with the stock FW again before finalizing that decision.

LOL. I made the mistake of replacing the sd card while driving last night and fired it off into the car somewhere by slipping off it before clicked in? Wish me luck.

That's sure a "goodvibe moment" lol. Spring loaded action at its worst ;).

I am using the stock firmware and do enjoy the sound. It actually required me to use EQ on the earlier firmware to make it sound right. Coincidentally though the new firmware on this device renders the EQ useless. The EQ doesn't work properly with this new stock firmware. I am under the impression there is one newer firmware out now. But I am also scarred this update will change the stock sound which I actually prefer with my FX700s.

The only thing that is temping me to keep the 601 is my FX700. Otherwise its out the window lol.

I think that's a pretty big statement since I own the DX100 and still consider the FX700 to be more enjoyable to listen to on the Hifiman...

Synergy - that is what it's all about.  My HM-602 and my GR8 is having the same effect as your HM-601/FX700.

Who could argue with that!bigsmile_face.gif

I looked hard in daylight before leaving for work this morning. I think my 32gb has been eaten by snakes.

This Synergy is killing my pocket lol. I wish I had one DAP that would synergize with them all ;).

Is your interior black? I ended up losing one of the LOD cover pieces for my Sansa Fuze LOD (the worst LOD Fiio could every make lol). I only recently found it while cleaning out the car. Nothing worse than losing something small and black in a black leather car...

Well except for getting into such a car on a hot sunny day lol.

I have been extremely busy lately and have not even been able to ship my old player out!
