Greetings

Obviously, from the question I am about to ask am not very technical. But I do like good sound :)

I am about to hook up my Xmas present to myself. A Little Dot MKIII amp and a pair of Sennheiser HD800's. I've noticed from the manual that the Little Dot is also intended as a pre-amp. I'm afraid that I know nothing about pre-amplification. If I run the outputs from the Little Dot to my regular amp (Conrad Johnson CAV-50) do I run any risk of damaging the CJ unit? Will the outputs act as a pass-through (can I run the CAV-50 without the Little Dot powered on)? Could the pre-amplification coming from the Little Dot overpower and damage the CJ?

My existing setup is:

CD player ----> Gilmore Lite -----> CAV-50

The output from the Gilmore is unamplified (simple passthrough), so I can run the CD player to the CAV-50 without any worries whether the Gilmore is powered on or not.

Hope my question makes sense. I don't want an Xmas disaster by frying my CAV-50 when I replace the Gilmore with the Little Dot.

Thanks

Kevin
