Brainwavz M4 or Head Direct RE0?

Hey guys, I'm currently torn between these two IEMs. I don't really have a particular type of music I listen to, so something with a fairly good sound across the board would nice, which seems both of these do, but to different degrees in certain areas according to reviews I read.

I've also read that the RE0 might benefit from amping, or is it pretty neglible? The price difference isn't really a factor either.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The RE0 are more detailed with less bass quantity than M4 and need AMPs help to sound it's best(loud). The M4 are very detailed and don't need AMPs help to sound it's best and has great punchy bass.

Thanks for the reply, pretty much what I've gathered from my obsessive review reading :p.

If I were to get the re0's would a fiio e5 do the trick, or would the e11 be worth the extra cost?

Althogh this extra cost of the re0's and the amp is making me lean towards the m4's, although I'm worried that for a little extra cost I'd be missing out on a better experience..

RE0 is more analytical and cold sounding, while the M4 are more aggressive and fun to listen to. I would take the M4 over the RE0 every time when asked.

Brainwavz M4's and a Sansa Clip+ with 24GB storage is enroute. My first foray into the world of audio smily_headphones1.gif.

Hopefully I won't be disappointed!
