New Hifiman Headphone HE-400 is out - Page 399

Just put in my order (thank you, Christmas money + bonus check). Can't wait for em to arrive!

Also, I ordered the velour pads... just because I like the feel over leather pads. Will this affect the sound quality? If so, for the better or for the worse?

For better! Velour is probably the best value upgrade you can get for the HE-400s sonically!

Please though, post in this thread http://www.head-fi.org/t/604583/hifiman-he-400-impressions-and-discussion-thread

I was wondering is there a difference in SQ on HE400 rev1 against rev2?

The rev 1 is supposedly more dark-- too dark for most people.

One Question!!

Is HE400 worth than DT990(250Ohm) when it comes to thing that it is almost double its price??

As in  <$400 range DT990 is also one of the best Headphones.

I dont understand your post, but if you are asking if the HE400 is worth it over the 990, for the most part, yes. The HE400 is more natural/organic, more balanced, and thicker sounding. The 990 is very fun with large mid bass presence and larger soundstage with more air, but mids are weaker, and treble is brighter. They are different enough to warrant owning both, but if you could afford the HE400, its cleary a better headphone.

The headphone is modular, there is no way for them to even check if it was taken apart unless you intentionally break or scratch something when you disassemble it.
