I will, once they tell me where to send it and whether or not they're going to reimburse me for shipping. I'm glad I kept the box they shipped it in. Which was taped to hell. Haha.

I may sell my HE400 Rev.2 soon. They deserve more power than the E17. Now that I sold my NFB5 (trying to get a Wii-U), I may downgrade to just a DT990/32 which I absolutely loved. No more expensive setups for me...for now.

Man, honestly this news had made my Friday. I was just about to pack my He-400 and return them for a refund.

Buy a GTX 6xx gpu instead and profit massively more.

Me too. Nice job Jerg - and credit to Fang for standing behind his product.

Sending an e-mail to HiFiMAN right now to see if the HE-400 can once more be the headphone it's supposed to be.

Wow, its kinda cool that HFM is fixing the rev3. Such great care and service.

I am wondering how durable is the rev 2 version since they stated that the rev 3 is an upgrade making it more durable. Those this mean that the rev 2 is fragile. redface.gif

I want my he-400 to last a very long time.

The change has been there for more than 4 weeks...I bought my HE400s closer to July or August, and I can confirm that my drivers are sandy yellow, and so my headphones are indeed revision 3. However, this offer is only to those that purchased the HE400s up to 30 days ago. I should be applicable. All revision 3 owners should be applicable. I've sent them an email regarding this issue. I hope this gets resolved, but I'll keep you guys posted.

I think I'm just going to return my HE400s. My HD600s sound freaking awesome in every way that I wanted them to. Then I have an excuse to get the Bifrost...

As long as you explain that you got one of the units with the treble issues, I don't see them refusing replacement. Hifiman customer service has always been very reasonable and lenient, from my experience.

Ah, shame. You'll never be able to hear what these are supposed to sound like. IMO if they offer totally free replacement with reimbursed shipping, you really have nothing to lose to try the fixed version.

I'm up for exchange if they do free shipping both ways.

I'm assuming HFM thinks that all the 30 days are definitely rev3. So before 30 days, if they are rev 3 too, there should be no problem for them to replace it too. So far they have a great service.

So the new revision will be rev3.5 or will they come back to rev 2?

That remains to be answered definitively, but my guess is that it will be rev3.5.

From what I've gathered (and jerg seems to think this as well) it's a rev 3.5

edit: And speaking of, look who beat me to the punch.

As for an open question: Think the new pair I get back from replacement (They are away for it right now in fact) will be this new rev? I think I'm going to make sure to email customer service to be sure.
