Would You Reshell a Monster Turbine Pro Copper?

Hi - looking for a descent pair of headphones to reshell into a custom.  Futureshop has these for $99 tonight on a limited offer.  Are these a good bet for reshelling?

If they are $99 I would think 99.9% they are fakes.   Either way, I believe like everybody else, Fisher won't resell a dynamic driver headphone, only balanced armatures

This place is truly an authorized dealer?  If so $99 is a fantastic price!  (still can't reshell though...)

Yup - authorized/legit.  One day only, limited quant (but not too limited).  Too bad can't reshell - I want a custom that is good, but not crazy expensive, that I could use for long workouts and have limited down side if I break them from the workouts.  Wouldnt want to risk that on anything too high end.

That's where you're wrong. There was a thread back then by Kiteki asking for participants to reshell dymamics <14mm. Also, UM does reshelling for the ie8s, with the addition of two BAs

From a quick browse through the board - these hold up pretty well vs. other high end IEM dynamics like the IE8 so I guess I'll give 'em a try - at this price I guess if I don't like I can resell without a problem.  I also noticed the lifetime warranty ... that gives me confidence that they are well built.

But reshelling and adding drivers on the IE8 + the IE8's cost itself would already cover quite a bit. You can already buy a decent custom with that money. The turbine pro coppers are generally quite neutral sounding. But do be careful though, these things do break easily :).

It was just stated as an example to prove that reshelling dynamics is possible, but i do agree it isn't cost effective to do so. But It might sound good, we may never know till someone bites the bullet!

Yeah - I think I'll purchase, keep the universal fit, and then I have the lifetime warranty if needed. Agree there is no point in spending $300+ on an iem like an ie8 just to reshell - may as well just buy a custom. I do have a used tf10 that would be a good candidate / picked them up for around $100

I have been heavily debating pulling the trigger on these:

They seem like the best option for non-fully customized "custom dynamic driver" IEMs.

The TF10 is actually one of the best, if not the best candidate of IEMs to reshell. Seeing many people like the sound quality but have troubles and problems with the fit, custom reshelling it would be ideal. Also, I heard that the mids would not be recessed after reshelling.

This looks more of a custom tip then a customized IEM (LOL)
