Headphones for the gardening houewife - which ones at approx 300 USD (online shop price)

So, decided to do something for my mother. She's only used to listening to crappy kitchen radio and a cheap little cramped "hifi" chain (actuall non-fi). I want to gift her some decent headphones, also to be used outside when working in her garden. There's a noisy road nearby, so they need to be as noise dampening as possible and not annoying while working .... which only leaves in-ears. She listens often to arias and loves the opera singer voices, but also listens to various other things ... country, folk, other classical stuff etc. She also needs something, taht is very comfortable to wear, which means a good selection of changeable ear-rubber thingies for the in ear. The source will be iPods .. at the moment an older (I think 4th gen), in future probably an iPod nano ... it's the only devices simple enough for my old dudes to work with nd they're used to itunes now, something to think about, since some of those high end multiarmature in-ears seem difficult to drive for some mp3 players, ending up in  crappy frequency response.

What would you suggest? My TF10s have not arrived, yet, so I can't really have an opinion on them, but my guess is, that they'll be a bit to large for her.

How about the ortofon eq-5's? They're nice and musical, easy to drive, and I think they're in your price range. The isolation is decent, but won't completely block ambient sound.
