Wonder how soon we can get a review?

There already are impressions on the board. I should have mine next week or so

Wondering which of these (650, 880, or 701), the 400 will mostly compliment.  If I had to sell two of the (big three) to afford, what are the recommendations?

It will compliment most the K701, then DT880, then HD650 in that order.

Very best,

Hifiman HE-500 for open. For closed, nothing beats a good woody Denon.

Very best,

Would a Darkvoice 336SE be adequate to drive the HE500?

If the 336SE is an OTL(output transformer less) type of tube amp(which it looks like it is), then the answer is no.  OTL tube amps specialize in producing a high amount of voltage in to high impedance(120 Ohms or higher) loads, and generally struggle to provide current(which the HE-500 needs a fair amount of) into low impedance loads.  That is where SS(solid state, non-tube) amps better OTL tube amps as they are able to drive low impedance loads quite easily.

For the moderately current hungry HE-500, a hybrid tube amp(an amp that has both tube and SS components) would be a good option to try, like Hifiman's own EF-5.  Or for more cost effective options, the Matrix M-stage and the Objective 2 amp.

Has anyone tried these (he400) with a Schiit Asgard? Talking with Jason, he highly recommended it. Once my funds calm down I was thinking of  trying them out.

With the Schiit Asgard, what DAC would you pair it up with?

Schiit Bifrost imo.

Does anyone have pictures what they may look like (the back view of the cords) when they are set together?
