Looking for opinions on ipod Nano 6th gen vs 1st gen sound quality, also dock connector questions.

I sent my first gen back to Apple after reading there email stating there is the chance of overheating and or catching fire.

 

Fast forward 7 weeks, Apple is finally sending me a replacement Nano, I checked the serial number on there site and the replacement is a 6th gen.   Can anyone that's heard both comment on audio quality?  I would of been fine receiving another first gen Nano, it's sounded fine to me using the dock out and portable amp. Also much prefer the looks of the click wheel.

 

On the subject of docks, I really haven't been keeping up with things in the last few years, will the turbo or alo docks still work on the newer gen Ipods?

I was going to send mine off but im now apprehensive and my nano is the best sounding portable audio device i have, much better than my 6th gen classic and Iphone 4

If I knew what I was going to get back I probably would of kept my first gen too, I was a tad nervous though as it was getting warmer and warmer on recharges. 

 

The funniest thing, I seriously think the replacement 6th gen runs even hotter...also nothing I have works on it (ALO bling bling, Turbo dock) 

 

I haven't fully tested it, I been battling the flu all week, but it seemed to require quit a bit of volume pushing something as simple as my Senheiser HD485.  Also this 6th gen is impossibly small and hard to operate with big fingers.

sendstation dock works where turbo's dock did not on the 6 gen. I too sent my gen 1 back and was distressed when I had no dock. They are available on Amazon

I was looking at there site the other day,  only there newer models work with the 6th gen.  How does your 6th gen sound with this new dock?
