Will a HE-500 replace any of my existing headphones?

Asus Xonar Essence STX working with stock op amps...

hd 555, hd 600, akg q701, denon AD-H2000, ath-M50is.

Will any of these headphones be made obsolete by a HE-500 from hifiman? I am thinking of getting one.

The akg/sennheiser are my neutrals....while my denon is the basshead, and the 555 m50s are my portable beat arounders.

Will the he-500 replace any of my top 3? hd 600 denon ahd2000 or akg q701? meaning will the he-500 be better in every way while emphasizing the same parts of the music (treble + bass for the denons)?

i don't think it will be better in EVERY way but at least most. the detail level would be a lot better and the bass texture and mids would be better as well. the only thing u may find to be not much of an improvement would be soundstage. ortho are generally not known for really good sound staging

Find out for yourself. Once you have found your preferred presentation of the music you can happily ignore the headphone market...
