iPod Touch 4th Generation question (LOD + .mp3 + headphones)

hello everyone,

I've just bought an iPod touch and i'd like to know how to make the best of it, SQ-wise.

I've been reading some good things about LOD + amp, BUT, would it be worthy for me to get them even though I only listen to .mp3s? My mp3s are all V0, and some 320, but I figure all you guys who use lod + amp + good cans only listen to FLAC. Am I wrong?

Would it make a substantial difference?

I have a FiiO E5 already that I could use, and some nice IEMs - Brainwavz M2. And I'm seriously thinking about getting the ATH-M50 this week (bad idea?)

Would it be a nice setup?

And if yes, what LOD would be a good idea for me to buy?

Thanks a lot

I have a Touch that I use on its own, with a LOD and a variety of portable amps, and with a Solo/amp.  It's pretty good on its own, better with an amp, and of course quite amazing through the Solo.  Yes, you can tell the difference with an LOD/amp listening to 320kbps files.  Apple lossless - the Touch won't play FLAC without some kind of app - is a good deal better.  I can't speak to the E5, as I've never heard one.  The Touch with a TTVJ Slim and a low-profile LOD isn't much bigger than an iPod Classic and sounds really good.

Thanks for the reply. I might just get FiiO's LOD cable to see the result. You amp looks great but it's way above of my budget. I hope the amp i already have will be good enough.
