I'm a black friday baby, and total discomfort with the fit. Anything non comply would just slip out of my ear if my bus hits a bump, and putting the comply that came with the TF 10 into the ears was a project.
I looked at the comply filters and I started to notice (Advanced thinking) that the front of the tip would bunch up when you rolled them in your fingers making a lot of stuffing to get into your ear canal. Well... what to do.
The operation was quick, a cloth pin to hold the comply and a razor blade, then I said, wouldn't it be simpler to just use the tool called sissors? It was.
I cut the front of the tips down to the inside tube making the comply now 1/2 the size in height so they are not shorter. Right to the stem (I did not cut the stem)
What I got. COMFORT and super easy insertion and a great seal.
To test, a video... Hammerfall, Last Man Standing.... bass full, lots of seperation and ton of shouting.... great music.... then I tossed in a Dean Martin video (Volare), very loud....then I went to Hatsune Miku and the World is Mine on 1080p... the music is filling, and fun.... loud, and a lot going on.... the crowd sticks out nicely... where before all I saw were the glowing sticks...
What is important is there is no ear fatigue now. I think my Tim Ferriss like attempt worked
For a non-video, I went with Frankie goes to Hollywood and Two Tribes. The deep bass in the guys voice at the start proves the seal it good. at the minute 20 mark the voice comes in... heyyy yeyyyyyy, and the drums, congos are everywhere.... lots of movement.
At times I think I may now have a good seal on my lef ear as they do not hurt.... but they are sealed and the comply grip enough.
So, if you are having trouble with the fit, you do have 2 pairs of comply that came with them... so lop off a 1/4 just to the white inside stem and your set, and you make be as happy as me.... I think I really figured it out.
