I've been reading through these forums for a while and I finally decided to ask for some help because I'm utterly confused and have no clue what to do anymore.
My problem is that I have these HARX900's, and for my desktop with no sound card and no amp they sound great, especially the bass.
Then there comes the iPod Touch.. when used with the iPod Touch the HARX900's sound terrible, there's absolutely no bass, the mids are nonexistent, the highs are shrilly and I have to have the iPod turned to max volume all the time.
The iPod was crap even when I had the XB500's before this so I'm pretty much done with apple.
Basically, what I'm looking for is a portable player with good sound customization (maybe a 10 band EQ but that's probably asking too much) that will put something like a FiiO E11 amp to good use and make the HARX900's sound at least as good as they do out of my desktop headphone jack.
I'm extremely new to this so I've never used an amp before, at best I'm decent at fine tuning an EQ but that's about it. Also I'm effing poor so I'm pretty much limited to what I make off of selling the iPod Touch + Christmas money, which probably leaves me with $250 :/
If this is at all possible in that price range I would be sooo grateful for any help! Also, thanks for all of the information this forum has already provided me with thus far!
