Hey guys, so in the market for a "smart" phone with "decent" sound quality. I was eyeing the droid razr, galaxy SII, or nexus (Galaxy SII has "poor sound") and there are so many choices, by the time I read all the reviews of each phone, a next batch of phones comes out. So perhaps we can expediate the process based on needs. All the reviews for smartphones simply say, good call quality, which is useless for what we are trying to analyze.
Staying away from the "beats by dre" bandwagon of bass heavy equalizers, which don't sound pleasant at all
So here are a couple conditions, importance ranked as primary concern, and secondary concern.
Primary
1) Good-Excellent sound on my Shure SE420's playing FLAC's
2) Lots of storage - expandable - microsd or simliar
3) Decent camera
4) Good performance as general portable media player, video support, file format, etc..
5) Needs to work on the Wind "UMTS" network, frequency of 1700mhz (I think)
6) Not apple
7) 400$ - no contract - or used - maximum budget
Secondary
1) USB port charging
2) Be able to root the phone
3) Bells and whistles such as GPS and dual core processors - more or less useless but still fun
4) Good build quality
Again preferable that all of Primary goals need to be met, secondary, can be dealt with.
Your knowledge is appreciated!
A simple response of: "this phone - for this reason - with this firmware upgrade"
Cheers!
