I have the denon d2000 paired with the e9. Do I really need the e7?

Not really no. Unless the dac in the e7 is better than the standard onboard in the computer, I won't bother.

What is the brand/model of your laptop?

 

 

80% of laptops onboard sound is horrible. But there are a select few out there that are decent.

From a quick search it looks like that model uses the Realtek chipset. I would think you would notice a difference from the E7. Should be an improvement.
