Creative X-Fi Platinum - Next Step?

Years ago I received a Creative X-Fi Platinum for as a Christmas gift.  It's lasted with me very well and have over all been very happy with it.

The Platinum version comes with a internal 5 1/4 bay module for various outputs.  The thing that I loved about this was the front headphone/mic ports.  I'm not sure about the specifics, but I believe it is a headphone amp as well.  Using the front headphone outputs with my Sennheiser 555's and Grado SR325's was considerably better.  The Grado's were a bit underpowered, but I felt there was much improvement.

Anyways, onto my real question here.  I am in the market for a true amp that can be mounted in a 5 1/4 bay.  But everything I've ever come across seems to be either geared to portable or external (self contained) unit's.  Is there something like the 5 1/4 bay unit the X-Fi Platinum comes with?

Thanks in advance for any advice you guys can offer.  Years ago I came here seeking advice for computer speakers and found the Swan D1080MKII's and have been extremely happy with them.

If there is a headphone amp made to fit in a computer's 5.25" bay, I haven't heard of it. Interesting idea, though.

Besides, with audiophiles extremely concerned about EMI/RFI and all that inside a computer (probably exaggerating things if you ask me), they'd rather have external, discrete components anyway.

Is it really that unsightly just to have an external headphone amp somewhere near your computer?
