Hmm, that's really a huge thing for me. Crossfeed is so essential. Hmmm.

well i went for the lastest classic, which has very good SQ from the headphone out compared to other classic's. And i'm not bothered about fancy settings, music > lod > amp > headphones
and it sounds so good IMO, i dont need to enhance or EQ anything, as i want it as pure as possible.

I'm absurdly compulsive about what I pick. It's driving me CRAZY. deadhorse.gif

I also had a clip+ , until the headphone jack (and after it, the whole unit) gave up on me, so I think I'll try to invest in something a little bit more durable. Something it's not worth the money if it keeps breaking after a while. But after all, it's only up to you choosing what you can live with and without ;)

Until I figure my situation out I am buying a 4gb clip+ tomorrow and I am going to be extremely delicate with it. If it busts then I will just live without for a while.

I wish they'd just fix the damn thing. Seriously. I wonder if the zip has a different input jack by any chance. It'd be great if it did.

So get everything else other than the Fuse+?

I think the Fuze+ is easily the winner in sound quality.   There have been firmware updates to fix the UI....and it is much better now than when it came out.  It is still a VERY quirky UI so if you get this one you just need to be prepared to get a little frustrated with it.  But the sound is much better than the Clip+ or the Zip.  And it produces a much stronger output than either the Clip+ or the Zip.

I think my Sony A818 battery is finally starting to die. Where can we read more about the firmware updates to fix the UI.

I still can not control what track is selected even after the UI updates.  As far as I am concern the Fuse+ came out of the box a brick.

It not just the software or firmware it is even the on-off switch that I can't seem to get to work. I have to push it down on a surface to get the contacts to work holding it there until see life.  Then it takes over a minute to start up (~75 seconds) as if it was some Windows Operating system out of the 90s.  This comment is for the Fuse+.

Clip Zip 8 gb is available from Costco for $54.99.  Try it out for 3 months and then just return it, no questions asked.  You could even try Rockboxing it, if it doesn't work, just return it.

Nice!! How's the classic battery when using with lossless tracks? and does the HDD skip at all?

just curious if you don't mind atsmile.gif

no skipping at all and battery last a long time, i will test it and see how long it lasts if you like.
I will fully charge it and leave it playing lossless.

Thats is one problem with the sansa's, battery life is not good.

Regards

build quality and UI is great, and sound quality is very good too.
