My idea is a stock headphone cable should be as versatile as possible. Which mean generally not to short.

Audeze LCD-2. Cables all of them. So short I can hardly sit one metre away from the telelevision with the headphone jack about 1 metre from the center of the t51". DX 1000 or Sony CD 3K can relax in the sofa more then 2 metre away no problem. .I can´t recall seeing a headphone with shorter cable then the LCD-2 that is not made for portable use
