DIY IEM wire question

Hi all I am making a custom IEM cable. I can't justify paying $150+ for a pre-made one, plus DIY is fun! Now that the UE connectors are easily accesible I just need to get some clarification on which wire. I was particularly looking at the DHC Nucleotide 24awg, because that's the smallest they sell. I was planning on using 28 awg. Would the 24 awg work? Thanks!

That's exactly what I am going for I just wasn't sure what gauge wire was used in that pic. I was assuming it was the DHC, but wasn't sure. Thanks!
