Sennheiser 598s with good bass

I own Sennheiser 598's, and I really enjoy them. However, I've heard a lot of people complain about its supposed lack of bass impact. However, my 598s have fantastic bass. I have them running out of my Fiio E10, so does that have anything to do it? I feel like the bass impact is weaker without a headphone amp, so maybe those that complain about the lack of bass don't use one? I think it's startling that people complain about its bass, when I wouldn't even mind if its bass was toned down a bit too. I don't dislike bass though, so I highly doubt that I just have really low expectations of bass impact. Are my 598s faulty or do amps really make that much of a difference?

598s have a spike in impedance close to 300ohms in the lows so an amp helps bring out a bit more bass.  E10 is slightly warm I believe and maybe you have the bass boost on as well.  I run the same rig with it always on.  Bass suits my needs.

Yeah I don't have the bass boost on, but that is a good point about the impedance spike in the bass.
