Need some help for a couple pair of in ear phones.  First pair in the $50-70 range that has some durable cables to be used with iphone, android and ipod.  The second in the $100 range with the same capablities.  Thanks.

why not save up the money and just get one pair? IEMs in the sub 200 range is a LOT better than anything below 100.

Yeah, I agree, double up and get one headphone...  Something like Phonak, Brainwavz B2, Etymotic HFs, etc will definitely be more worth it.

OH, LOL...  OK

What kinds of music do they listen to?  If you know at all, list sound preferences if you know them.

They listen to a wide variety,  from 70s rock to hip hop and Buble.  Thanks

Brainwavz M4s for under 70, ThinkSound TS02 for under 100 are both great choices.  Other ideas include the DUNU tridents which come under 50, or even the Hephaes which come around 100. Even the entry level Phonak may be something that they may like.

Does anyone have any advice on the Jays (flat wires), Shure se215 removeable wires, Westone1 braided cables or Klipsch.

I've had all four that you mentioned and the Westone braided cable is by far the best one. It's light, flexible, resists tangle well and the braided design will help with the accidental stretch or pull. Shure's removable cable is also quite durable, but too thick and not as easy to handle. I also wasn't a fan of the memory wire, again being too thick, making it very hard to keep it in place behind the ears as it would often bulge outwards.
