Difference Between Grado SR80i and Allessandro MS1

Hi Guys,

Am I right in thinking that the Allessandro Music Series 1 headphones are based on the Grado SR80? If so can someone explain how they differ to the Grado's, is it the drivers that are modified or are there other things.

Would I hear a distinct difference between the Allesandro's and Grado's....bearing in mind I have removed the front driver membrane and pierced the rear drivers with 5 holes? I am also awaiting a recable and wooden cups for the Grado's.

Would the Allesandro's be a worthwhile purchase as an additional pair of headphones which may also get modded at a later date.

Cheers

A user did a direct comparison between these two not too long ago.  The Alessandro does use different drivers, it seems, but the actual differences between Grados and Alessandros are a trade secret between the two companies.

Since you're modifying your SR80i's, I don't know if you'll see enough of a difference between the two to justify a horizontal move...unless you just want them, then go for it beerchug.gif
