Audeze LCD-2 "Vegan" Earpads - feedback, installation & mini-review - Page 4

Would like to hear more sound impression re Vegan vs. leather pads.

Clamping or comfort is not an issue, even with my 2XL size head. You can easily and carefully bend the headband or stretch headband with thick books.

I would love to get "vegan" more puffy headband also.. the original design is so thin that it doesnt really dampen the metal underneath at all (for me) and really hurts my head sometimes, mostly bc it sits on my head in a angle and not flat :/ Its like a knife pushing through my skull (this is slightly exaggelerated ;)

Would these pads fit on the Denon Dx000 series?

Doubt it, Denon pads are a bit more ovalish then rather completely round and circular, I was thinking maybe the Stax O2 pads fit?

The beyer velour pads fit the Denon's and they are round as well. I think these might work.

LCD2's have a diameter of 6.1inch's across from A to B, Denon's are not that wide?

The LCD-2s are noticeably larger than the Denons and the pads are far more angled than the D7Ks.

Has anyone ever tried putting the Audeze pads on their Denons?!

I would like to know if it fits!

Haven't tried, but it is definetly bigger. The vegan pants are 35,5 cm around the outside,  (my measurement)

So im finally gonna change my LCD2r1 pads now. I just need to know which one is more comfortable for long periods of time the vegan or the leather pads. it seems that the leather are softer but some people here are saying the vegans are more comfortable which seems confusing to me @.@ pls help me, thanks :D

I just finished installing my new "vegan" pads, and I think they made a real, very worthwhile improvement!

I bought the LCD-1 and the LCD-2-v1 and the LCD-3, and I sent 'em all back. I kept the LCD-2-v2; it has very realistic tonality, a fairly flat response and excellent clarity. Nevertheless, it's hard on the head. Uncomfortable. Can't even listen to half of a CD.  Good SQ, almost as good as the T1 or LA7000 using the re-tubed DNA Stratus or the TOTL Rudistor "quad-mono" RP010B, but not much head time.

The soft "vegan" pads make the LCD-2 much more comfortable to wear. And there's a bonus -- the SQ is definitely improved, to my ears. I always heard a minor suckout in the low-mids/upper-bass with the leather pads, which made the low-bass stand out a bit, and that is now more or less gone. I also heard a slight slurring in the highs, especially on a cymbal tap, and that is now much improved. Not as crystal clear as the T1, LA7000 or especially the HE-6, but much better.

I think I am finally going to get some hours of  listening enjoyment with my LCD-2-v2 !!!

Can someone link where to buy just the pads online? I can only find the headphones with the pads. I want to try and put these on the HE400s
