Oppo PM-1 semi confirmed for a $800-1200 price. Really starting to dislike this continual rise in the cost of higher end gear.

Smells nasty too. There's a good reason it's banned or restricted in certain public areas in Asia.

If you still want to try, Google Durian fruit or see if your Asian grocer has them.
My grandad brought one back from China 10+ years ago...smelled like sewage.
I avoid them when I go back

Lol, I still want to try. There are very few foods I truly despise.

Finished AnoHana. Damn them feels. I think that's now officially the most I've cried for an anime. It's weird though, despite crying a lot at the ending I don't feel depressed after seeing the ending. It just seems like they finished it off in the most perfect and logical way they could.

Yeah, the feels I got from Ano hana....oh gosh.

Yeah, Ano Hana was an awesome anime. A bit long for 12 episodes though as you could tell they were dragging out useless schiit

You thought an 11 episode anime was dragged out? O.o

It was very dragged out.

There were many 'inconsistencies' in terms of rational progression of the story

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Mainly in terms of how long it took for 'proof' of Menma and having her reveal herself to actually be 'real' through the anime

The anime STALLED a SCHIIT ton. There was about 8 episodes worth of content I would say. But its not bad that they did some stalling. Some of the episodes that weren't story essential did add good character progression and in making the side characters more 3D

Ehh, I would call that "stalling" character progression. IMO, they were just setting up the relationships of the characters and starting to build conflict. I also think it's kind of logical that it took so long for the reveal. As her parents said, she's an airhead character.

Try look for one in Vietnamese markets or something like that. Thailand seems to export it too from what I can tell. Or just do a google "durian in Seattle" lol.

Yeah, they were setting it up, but the slow parts and irrational progression more or less is what I would call moderae stalling :/

I just googled it and it looks like there are a few places I can get them. Sweet.

If it wasn't there, you probably would have complained that the characters weren't fleshed out well enough...

Happy new year! I can already hear the fireworks/gunshots going off three hours early. I'd be with them but I don't have a place to light them off. Oh well...

@mechy, be prepared for different genus of the fruit. I don't know if they label which ones they import, but some will be more... potent and stronger, while some others can be milder. When you do go to wherever they are selling durians in Seattle, can you do me a favour and ask if they are from Malaysia?

If it's not already labeled, will do. :)

I can't remember what is what. I know I've seen or read both Onegai Teacher and Onegai twins :/

Just finished Valvrave the Liberator.

My thoughts/suspicions on the series from episode 3+ came true. :/

The series seemed like it was written by an 8 year old. Half the events, and reactions from sub characters are insanely irrational and idiotic. The story progressezes in bouts of Deus Ex Machina to slight rationale event progression all the way back to 8 year old superhero events.

The sub characters that give the MC's conviction are EXTREMELY under-baked

Examples being

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
Shoko to Haruto
Liselotte to L Elf
Nobu to THUNDER
Akira's bro to Akira and so on

In the sense that they all have one dimensional roles that they never break free from. It's always person X acts as _____ to MC character 1/2/3/4/5 and so on. They don't get any real in depth progression and most of the conviction that one would feel from them is through forced tension events.

Overall, Valvrave was a very targeted series despite it being marketed as not. Valvrave is marketed as a series that everyone can enjoy. Where the anime geeks, kids, and newcommers can all think that this would be a good series to latch onto. The problem them is that its actual niche targeting is towards the younger 10-15 age bracket. Story progression events, over the top sudden action and drama, along with various other mid **** stuff that it does is evidence of this.

Valvrave was a worse series than Guilty Crown. However, while GC was more 'in the moment' cringe worthy than Valvrave,Valvrave gets a lower score due to just how bad the logic, and rationale the story is in terms of events that make sense.

5/10

Would not watch again, and not recommended. Even at the very end, the series was extremely lackluster in every single thing it did.

Valvrave officially gets my award for the worst AAA series (marketed - supposedly - towards the anime geek group (although it was also targeted at many others as well)) I have ever seen.

Most AAA series marketed towards us that are bad, still aren't nearly as bad as Valvrave is.

Bowei's wall of text translates to: Valvrave sucked.

At least that's what I read.

Yep, basically it.

Valvrave is an AWESOME series for 12 year olds to watch. Over the top action, military alliances, multiple babes etc etc.

It's just pretty much absolutely putrid.

Condense your three sentences, and you get: Valvrave sucked. Haha
