Ahh, That makes sense.

I didn't think there'll be a hole on top of the case.

There are some that push it into the case.

Like mine.

Corsair recommends a push and pull config pulling coiler air from outside the case.

This of course is only a rec. if you have fans and airflow in yourcase for whatever neg or
Pos airflow you are trying for, you can just do that.

Im thinking of mounting my radiator and fans differently when I get back home

A lot of PC cases past $50 have an exposed top for fans and or radiators smily_headphones1.gif

Umm. Some are
Clocked differently.

Some have different artistic designs. But most of it is in the cooling and different tweaks they do for more perf

Now looking at what I have.... (2x MBP + 1x MacMini)
It's pretty damn hard to tell people that I hate Apple....

But in fact I really do....

What do you hate about them?

Isnt that just your current dissatisfication and pre-adapting to Mavericks?

I have never had a moment hen I first started using an OS or OS variant upgrade where I
Loved it.

I had periods of hate for Windows 7, 8, and 8.1 when i first statted

No It's not that I'm "adapting" to OSX 10.9, The OS itself just isn't as good as 10.8 in the sense of resource manmagement.
Like how much RAM the system itself takes, it's ridiculous!!! With the default 4GB that came with my MBP, I see the rainbow ball EVERY 10-20 seconds!!

Anyway, I've upgraded to 8GB so it's fine now.
BUT guess what, that not all. Oh no, there are so many problems with this OS, I can't even begin to talk about it in a sane manner so lemme calm down for a moment....\\\

..

...

....

*deep breaths*

OK...

  1. OS laggs when ever I change volume level, I loose a few audio samples.... THIS IS A HUGE PROBLEM!!!!
  2. No more 2D dock, I HATE the 3D one.
  3. My virtual audio pipe "soundflower" keeps on glitching because of an under/over filled buffer.
  4. Disk speeds are capped, in a random manner. Sometimes my USB3 Drive can go 160MB/s and sometimes only 30-40MB/s for the SAME SEQUENTIAL READ TASK.

    BOTTOM LINE: SCHITTY RESOURCE MANAGEMENT.

OK, I'll admit, it's not all bad some of the UI looks and uses better than 10.8

but having my audio stream glitch everytime I change volume is simply unacceptable!

EDIT: I've already solved the volume glitch problem by unchecking this box (it's on by default) but this was never a problem before so I dunno what they're doing....

Though this doesn't change the fact that the OS laggs often, I know it's lagging because my audio stream will glitch when I'm listening to music.

Basically the OS laggs momentarily when ever I'm trying to start a new process, be it copying files, emptying the trash etc.

I've also noticed problems in terms of overall system performance.

Mavericks was indeed desinged to use less resouces and it does do that at times. But it still seems like it fills up a bit with only 4GB

I'll be upgrading my Mac I believe soon. Hopefully 8GB and SSD will fix this right up :D

@Borisu

The Mac should support most PC RAM last I checked right? Even without regard for timings or clock as long as its 'approx' or decent is that correct?

Yep, it seems CAS 9 with 1066MHz DDR3 should work for an upgrade for me :)

For general / daily use this is still acceptable, but the problem is that I use this computer for live shows and performances!
I simply cannot afford to have the audio glitch in the middle of the show for every little thing I do!!!

I'm using 1x 8GB (CAS11) with 1600MHz DDR3 now.

I might have to invest in a faster HDD before I start any show.... the new OS seems to be using more disk I/O

Guess they're assuming most people have SSDs...
