No. I'm fine thanks guys. Got away with some bruising down my left side and grazing where my glove(thank gawd I switched to much thicker winter gloves a few days ago) rolled away from my palm. My bike is in serviceable condition, though I had to realign my handbars.

I've never been to any concerts. Seen a few big acts live, but only in small club venues. I think Studio B at Gatecrasher Birmingham, Sub-focus, Pendulum and Marina and the Diamonds at University of Warwick SU(The Basement) and I remember seeing Florence and the Machine live somewhere too...just can't remember what it was called.
:/
Sorry to hear about your misfortunes, but thankfully you're still in one piece. Did you get information about the suspects? One of my coworkers was a victim of a hit-n-run incident a week before his PhD general exam, but he's doing fine right now.

Man my fingers are cold. I need a heated keyboard...... that's a good idea actually I'm going to search the web to see if anyone has tried making one.

.... on a side note, does a DAC exist that has a USB pass-through? As in it is a DAC and acts as a USB hub? That would be awesome for my work setup as my tablet only has one USB port but I need that for the music packed in the USB drive.

** Follow-up ** Damn you amazon you make it too easy.

I would like a DAC that has a USB port for other devices, basically a DAC with a port like below. It would be like a USB hub/splitter built into the DAC.

OR you can.....you know. Buy a USB HUB for $5-$7 and then connect the DAC to one of the sides of the hub?

Or DIY it yourself. Some DAC's are huge compared to what are inside them. You can easilly DIY it then by dropping in a USB hub on the inside, rewiring some of the connections so that the USB port on the back of the DAC originally now connects to the USB hub's 'main' connector with the board that originally connecting to that back port now connecting to one of the ports on the USB hub. Then drill some holls into the case to fit the rest of the ports.

$7 and a few hours later and voila.

you can only connect a DAC to one device at a time.  so a usb hub would be sorta useless

but if u want to use a dac and use external storage then use a usb hub... it'd probably need a powered usb hub as powering the dac AND external storage would draw too much power

The Panda has the right idea. I just dont want all of the excess wires, power supplies, etc. With the portable crowd (where USB ports are non-existant or limited) using DACS, I was just hopeful some manufacturer had combined the two.

It would be a fun DIY project, but I really would want the powersupply combined.

why dont you just store the music on the tablet itself?  does it not have expandable storage like a microsd slot?  and how portable is it if you need a portable hd?

Any of us with a P-H could actually do this. Only problem (which is also a good one) is that the case is a bit thick.

IT has a lot of space and DIY ability on the inside though.

Take apart that USB HUB and solder some wires together and boom :)

Want to send me one? wink.gif

@TekeRugburn: I have a 64GB microSD card in there but that has the animus on it. I have a 128GB flash drive which is nice and small and has about 1/3 of my music on it. I dont even need a DAC for this setup at work, I was just thinking about the idea as the headphone out on the tablet seems to be exceptionally low-power..... and I am a gear nerd through and through.

yeah; completely understandable.  Just that if you're stationary with the tablet when listening to music (unless you're one of those people that listen to music on their tablet with it in your pocket or coat) then a powered usb hub would be the easiest and quickest solution.  unless you want to get a portable wifi disk like this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2169383 (SIDENOTE: I wrote the review for this on xda) and your tablet will be able to access the music on your flashdrive when connected to the wifi disk and still be connected to the internet.

Tickets are darned expensive though. Had to put down close to 60 euros. It'd better be good.
Nice. Sounds like fun. I've never been to a concert before either. Mostly because of that last sentence. That, and all the artists I like would either never come to the US or they're dead.

I personally quite like it. I don't care about the mastering, but I'm digging the song itself.

Oooh, I'll have to give it a listen tonight!
Ugh, got a 41/50 on my math exam, which I thought wasn't too bad. Then our professor said the average was 43, meaning I still did poorly, and my grade is still a 2.5 in the class, a full grade point less than I need it to be. Sigh, looks like I'll be retaking this class eventually... T_T
