Just started streaming the OST of Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea for the fun of it and... what's with the grand, emotional music?  I've got tears streaming down my face

Gotta watch the movie...

I just downloaded From Up on a Pooppy Hill and will be watching it :)

Quite a good epsidoe of Vavlrave 17 in the sense that so many things are explained and that it wasn't a mind**** of an episode like usual.

And for the reference that's the NTT Docomo tower and the forest/park at the first segment of the animation is Shinjuku Gyoen where a important chunk of the story happens.

I thought it was so weird seeing that movie, I was in that park in April this year.

Here's a picture of the DoCoMo tower I took while I was there.

Yep, halfway through. I LOVE the feel that Ghibli films have.

Wow that's actually a really nice shot & angle.

I was more engrossed in the scenery that all my Docomo towers ended up sorta like this:

*

Half hidden, or just blurred out from focal length lol. It really was a strange feeling to see that there in the park though.

And ofc since I went in July (or August?) which was after the airing of the movie... There's almost always someone there at these two places due to the movie's influence.

*

The colors when shot from darker areas look greener imo. And my shots be crooked, or just appear crooked due to perspective...

Dayum, seeing the fact that you actually went tot hat spot makes me jelly

Just finished From the Poppy Hill

Pretty entertaining movie

My thoughts on the movie's romance would be

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)
That at first, I thought they used the war adoption and differnt parent thing very newby. It was guaranteed that since this was from Miyazaki, shown nation/worldwide with huge theatre showings that incest WOULD not happen but the romance was. So at that point it was VERY obvious that there were some messed up details that happened.

So when the story told us how the 'change'/mix up happened. I was very disastisfied as it was something so easy comming and fixed a problem with little depth. Until I realized the fact or idea that Miyazaki uses past history and happenings as a way to promote his story. What happened to Shun probably happened hundreds if not thousands of times. Thinking about it then gave me the idea that Miyazaki took the event and threw two cahracters into it to give us a protrayl of what happened back then

Pretty nice to think of it this way I think
