It's its own type of brightness and I'm not really a fan of it. The midrange sounds too artificial to my ears.

Heh, I'll order it and probably just steal Chase's rip of it and then keep it in mint condition for the rest of its life...

Nope, balanced doesn't really make a damn bit of difference from what I've heard.

Haha, I told you their service was good!

Let me know if you get charged though. If you don't then I'll go ahead and pre-order it too.

Or you could just do what I did and buy the official movie from Japan with English subtitles (to be released on December 12th) :D

Do those words look Japanese to you? O.o

No, this is the Japanese version of Saya on the left.

How much did you pay for the japanese version? From my shipping confirmation email from rightstuf, they say "We will only charge your account for items as they are shipped.". Will pre-order once I get back from dinner.

Eh.. propaganda? Which headphones have you tried both SE and balanced? The difference between the hd600 SE and balanced isn't night and day, but noticeable. I'll have the hd650s later this week as well so I can say more about SE vs balanced on them when I get to do some comparisons.

Above and beyond

Most anime aren't looking to sell anything beyond the anime itself in sales.

Gundam Build anime is actually looking at selling real products

Their entire battle system, battle map, and style IS ALL around you buying their product.

Just finished the entire episode.

Basically, there were many dropped elements of buying lots of material to make the best gunpla, and how amazing it will look and fight after that is done.

GBF will also be a new interactive game so they are trying for a beyblade type of thing.

Anyway, they are using Gundam Seed type graphics and reference Seed a lot.

That sounds like something I could not watch in a million years :D
I mean, it's totally fine by me if someone in an anime is using a Sony laptop (seen that a lot) or is wearing clothes of a specific brand (like in Garden of Words).
Most of this product placement is more or less very subtle.
But in-yo-face marketing like you are describing there?
Nope!

Oktoberfest in Yokohama!
http://www.japanator.com/a-little-taste-of-munich-in-yokohama-29861.phtml
That would be worth a trip :P
Believe it or not, but I've never been to the Oktoberfest here in München.
And I'll most likely never go there because this festival is one of the main examples why I don't drink alcohol :P
Thousands and thousands of stupidly drunk people who just get drunk to be drunk (if you get what I'm trying to say).

There is this beautiful little website that is a pretty good summary of the Oktoberfest:

Warning: Name of the website roughly translates to Munich Vomits (Click to show)

And that is what you are getting to see there wherever you go.

I've actually been to an Oktoberfest once.....in Hongkong :D
It's called the German Bierfest and is organized by the Lufthansa.
I got there one day before it opened to the public.
Was a special VIP event for the super loyal Lufthansa frequent flyers. My cousin who lived in HK at the time got a spar ticket left and I got to go there with him.
Food, beer and everything else was free :)
The Lufthansa CEO person was there and held a little humorous speech.
Was a really great night :D

Well, this is technically the Aso BD version, you can get the "best of" a bit cheaper or the original one for who knows how much. Here's what that version is selling for: http://www.amazon.co.jp/gp/product/B00AH7PP9M/

Luckily, I had eyes on the ground (AKA Kalbee went to Japan over the summer) and picked me up a like new copy for something like 3880 yen.

I've already read Saya but I will re-read it sometime in the future. As for If my heart had wings, it will be my next VN after I'm down with Grisaia. I wish I could find the time to read VNs during school :(. I also got my balanced k702s just now as well! So I am one happy otaku and audiophile

Wait.. English?? I never knew an english ver was ever published (besides the patch)...

JAST has had the rights to SAYA for eons now. Same with Steins;Gate, so I'm glad something eventually materialized from them

Hopefully steins;gate doesn't turn into Saya though.

I think the first pre-orders for Saya went up around two years before the game was finally freaking released.

I just watched the first episode of Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio.
Naval combat is something you don't see thaaaaat often in animes but.....

What is up with this super weird animations?!
All characters look like they are some kind of drawn CGI low-polygon hybrid monster persons!
Looks super odd.

Yeah, it's kinda nuts cause the localization team for S;G was absorbed by JAST. Cool for them I guess. I'm hoping that S;G lands on Steam. I mean it's fun to laugh at dumb **** like HuniePop, but if it and S;G succeed, it'd prove that there is a viable market for VNs and adventure games in the Western market, and that can only be a good thing

Just placed my order for the steins;gate limited edition and the Aria limited edition lithograph. Couldn't help myself... had to buy the Aria lithograph since it's my favorite SOL series ever, right next to hidamari sketch >.>

Nope!

I'm making it more obvious than it actually is. Most of it is subtle, but easily detectable for those that are aware of Sunrise and Bandai's new moves.

It's not in yo face as much as what may seem like simple 'lines' and presentations of almost every element of the anime relates to something that Bandai and Sunrise have announced to sell to kids.

The battle stadium is a representation of kids buying, building gunpla,s buying materials to perfect them so they can be Mr. Badass that the anime protrays the kid age pilots to be. All of which are done in a video game system all of which is represenated by the anime.

So far, nothing bad, quite interesting for Gundam fans as it is nostalgia everywhere. But otherwise, meh

I think everything's been overly hyped to this day except Clannad. Only one that I had high expectations of and made it :duggfloat:

Yeah, violins and classical music and phallic pandas have been overly hyped to this day as well. Never had expectations for it, mind you...

Aoki Hagane no Arpeggio

Sigh... another one of those cute girls + XXX type animes

At least Nano-san is singing the ED.
